Learn How to Forgive and Believe In Yourself

By, Bob Peters || August 24, 2021

Everyone struggles. There is no way to be human without struggling and even though it does not feel good, your character, fortitude, resilience, and ability to persevere in the face of hardship are strengthened.  Learning how to move beyond failure will improve your confidence and mental health.

I don’t mean to suggest arrogance and narcissism are acceptable because they are not qualities that will lead to a good quality life, nor many friends.

What I am suggesting is that when you struggle, when you face adversity… give yourself permission to move on.

Don’t let moments of adversity define who you are as a person. Sometimes bad things happen because we made poor decisions.

Sometimes bad things happen because of nothing in our control.

Everyone struggles, everyone fails.  Struggling and failing do not define you, they are just part of being human.  Take control of that inner Self Advocate Voice and give yourself a pat on the back when you give something new a try, regardless of the outcome.

There are many many examples of people who have faced repeated adversity.  If you want to be inspired and help find motivation in this area check out Chicken Soup for the Soul, by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen.  Jack and Mark compiled a hundred true inspirational stories of ordinary peoples lives. After being dropped by their agent after 100+ pitches to publish their first book and being turned down by over 130 publishers, they were determined to get their book published and ultimately found a publisher.  Since that first Chicken Soup for the Soul book was published, there are now over 350 Chicken Soup books that have been published with over 500 million readers.  This is a two-fold story of perseverance…Jack and Mark not taking no for an answer after 100 rejections and ultimately the sharing of inspiring stories of ordinary people.
